One Night.
Reflecting on recent days and thoughts of late I vividly remember the first time we decided to meet. After many written words and attempts not to repeat cheeky phrases and adjectives all meant to help us relate. We navigated the new, the unfamiliar and a hint of fear to quickly realize perhaps there was something to be. With notes compared, likes and dislikes made clear, we settled on an unconventional fresh place that mirrored our possibility. We learned the basics, we had a good time, we decided one stop wasn’t enough so continued on, dove a little deeper- at least past the usual discography.
You liked my feet, I found that odd, but I knew it would be notions of the sort that would be a staple of who we are. Not totally normal, and very new to me, I was clear early on what we just might be. Yes it’s silly things like that, that seem to make us click, or maybe it’s noticing the details and meaning in them that illuminate and elevate the ordinary.
How I felt does not have a label, unless unsure, unknown, and truly happy is a word.
What did the switch of daily thoughts and future plans say? What did the idea of gameless play, and sharing anything feel like? I would not have known until the night that we first met.
